Kingwood Revolution VBC is a competitive club program for girls ages 10-18.  We offer various levels of teams which makes it possible for all athletes to participate.   All players are given the opportunity to become a better player at Kingwood Revolution.  Our practices are pre-planned and structured which helps us provide equivalent training throughout all teams. We provide experienced and quality coaches, a strength and conditioning program, and position training to our club players.

How Do I Register?

Parents will need to create an account through SportsEngine, if they don't already have an account. Click the “Register Here” tab above and follow the steps in order to be registered. With your new account you will be able to register for any program, have access to view camps, league, and teams you have registered, and view payment history.

What Do I Bring?

All players will be required to pay a $75 tryout fee that is non-refundable. At the time of check-in, a non-refundable deposit of $500 will be required (National teams will require $700 non-refundable deposit).

Deposit checks will not be cashed until a position on a team has been accepted. Players are encouraged to bring a water bottle along with wearing athletic shoes, knee pads, and an athletic shirt. Players will be given a tryout shirt during check in.

During the evaluation process athletes will be doing uniform fittings. Even though they are fitted for uniforms it does NOT guarantee they will make the club program. If athletes wear ankle braces while playing it is HIGHLY encouraged to bring them when trying on shoes.

Tryout Process

The tryout process will consist of a player evaluation performed by multiple coaches and directors.  Each player will have an evaluation form completed during tryouts.  Players are evaluated on skill level, coach-ability, attitude, effort, position, athleticism, and experience.  We encourage new players to participate in league or summer camps to give us a chance to get to know your daughter prior to tryouts. At check-in players will have their picture taken and be given a tryout penny.

Once tryouts have concluded, coaches and directors meet to go over evaluations and collectively decide on team placement for all players.  We also take into consideration parent and player's request for travel or non-travel.  When team placement is finalized we will contact all parents either by phone or email within 24 hours. Players will have 24 hours after receiving the offer to accept their position. The position must be accepted promptly as your decision could effect others.  Offers will start with the top team and move down through the other teams as offers are accepted or declined.

Due to tryouts taking place each day and the number of players trying out, we will not have the time for individual meetings the day after tryouts.  We suggest asking questions prior to the tryout or via email/phone call.

This season we currently have 20 club teams and we expect to have approximately 18-21 club teams next season.  We plan to have both travel and local teams in the 13s-18s age groups.  Our goal is to provide a place for all athletes and if a player is not given an offer, we provide a variety of other options to keep them involved in the sport such as a developmental league, red shirt players, and private lessons. 10's - 14's tryouts will consist of them making the club program and will have team placements at a later date.

Some coaches will be named by tryouts and tentatively placed with a team.  Please keep in mind that we continue to hire coaches from July until the start of club season and not all teams will have a coach placed in July.  Kingwood Revolution is always looking to hire the most experienced coaches and we want to make sure all coaches are a good fit for the team level and age group.

If your daughter cannot attend tryouts there are several options for a make-up.  We will offer tryouts through our pre-tryout camps prior to tryouts and will have make-up tryouts in July and August.  All players are highly encouraged to make the actual tryout date for accurate team placement.  Players who tryout at the pre-tryout camps will not be placed on a team until after their age group tryout in July.  All players are required to pay the non-refundable tryout fee regardless of when they tryout.

Types of Teams

NATIONAL TEAMS

This is designed for the athlete that desires to be in a training environment that prepares the player to play in college and who is willing to make sacrifices for her progress, her team, and her sport. These teams will travel out of state and take on the best competition the country has to offer. These players have the athleticism, mindset and skill to match up against the very best prospects. These teams at a minimum will compete in the Liberty and American divisions respectively on a National level.

Expectations:

  • Attendance at all tournaments is required.

  • Play time is not guaranteed and is given to the athletes that will provide the best opportunity to win.

  • 2-3 practices per week and are mandatory with little/no exceptions.

REGIONAL TEAMS

This is designed for the athlete who is serious about her volleyball and who is working hard to open doors to play volleyball in college and/or continue playing after high school. She also makes sacrifices for her progress, her team, and her sport. She may be looking at a wider array of colleges that may not require as high elite level athletic ability, skills, or may be more education-minded. This program may be used as a gateway to the national program. These teams will compete in the American divisions at national qualifiers and will travel within the state of Texas.

Expectations:

  • Attendance at all tournaments is required.

  • Play time is not guaranteed and is given to the athletes that will provide the best opportunity to win.

  • 2 practices per week and are mandatory with little/no exceptions.

LOCAL TEAMS

This is designed for players who are just exploring club volleyball and possibly becoming a serious volleyball player in the future. These athletes are involved with other activities and just can’t commit to the time and price of a full Travel team. They will only play in local Houston events. We have worked hard to limit the fees and scheduling, so that cost does not hinder participation.

Expectations:

  • Attendance at all tournaments is required.

  • Play time is not guaranteed and is given to the athletes that will provide the best opportunity to win.

  • 2 practices per week and are mandatory with little/no exceptions.
